Buying a rod and reel combo designed for the estuary is quite hard. You need a rod that can cast light soft plastics into the river but needs to be strong enough to handle a beast of a bass if caught. We have used our experience to put together a Rod and Reel Combo that is perfect for lighter bass fishing within an estuary. We personally use this combo for 80% of our fishing. You typically won’t need anything that’s over 35g casting weight as it will be too heavy for the river as will sink too quickly.
Rod: Tyrant S862 122g Medium Fast (RF) 2.62m 7-35g casting weight (8ft 7), This rod is our middle lengthed rod of the combos and is perfect for working top water lures in a river with the rod held up or casting a real light soft plastic into the margins.
Reel: Brown Bear 3000 (Full Metal Saltwater Spinning Reel) This reel is pure class and has a great ball handle that we love using. This reel weighs 285g which is very light.
If you purchase any of our combos we will send the rod and reel separately so they might not arrive on the same day.
Repair: If you break your rod tip section of your rod we do sell spare tip sections. It will be the cost of the section roughly £20-30 plus £13 postage.
