Description
The 115mm Red Gill Rascal (sandeel) is a good general sized lure for inshore boat fishing and also for casting from the shore.
On the boat they are most commonly fished on a flying collar rig with a long, 12’+, trace of either light nylon or fluorocarbon.
Another successful, but less practiced, method is to slowly troll the Red Gill Rascal behind the boat.
From the shore mount the Red Gill Rascal on a 3′ to 4′ trace behind a suitable size sinker and cast and retrieve. A steady retrieve often works best but sometimes a ‘sink and draw’ technique will be more effective.
